Deep Roots Grounding Exercise

#Grounding - Some days we might get too much anxiety, too busy in the brain, worrying about things out of our control. When we get caught up with things from the past or worrying about the future, we get disconnected from the present moment. In this state, we are not grounded.

As much as we are 100% spiritual beings, we are also 100% physical beings. Being #grounded means to be fully present in our physical state. In a "grounded state" you will have a sense of being fully embodied, whole, centered, and balance in ourselves and our relationships.

🌳Grounding is easy, try out this quick and easy technique for grounding. Think like a tree: While sitting or standing, plant your feet firmly into the ground. With your eyes closed, imagine you have roots, begin to take deeper and fuller breaths. With every exhale, envision any stresses or negative feelings being absorbed into the ground. Imagine the roots growing deeper and deeper, continue exhaling and releasing until you feel completely relaxed. Now, with every inhale imagine that you draw up the earth's energy through the roots on the bottoms of your feet. Repeat as many times as necessary until you feel charged and energized with the earth's energy, and reconnected to the present moment. This practice can be done indoors, but ideally, barefoot outside. The simple action of walking barefoot on the earth promotes grounding.

There are other things that we can do to improve how well we are grounding our energy.

Eating certain foods like root vegetables: carrots, beets, potatoes, and even garlic or ginger can be helpful. These vegetables have roots that reach down, deep within the ground. The roots are anchored to the Earth, which is the foundation for life. Everything that we consume, becomes us. We are formed from the Earth, it is our origin. It is important for us to maintain a healthy connection to the Earth. Make it a daily practice to make this connection and see how your stress and worries melt away.
